A Working Man Trailer: Jason Statham Kicks Ass In David Ayer’s Sylvester Stallone Written Thriller
Jason Statham Gears Up for Brutal Action in A Working Man
In uncertain times, sometimes all you need is a glimpse of Jason Statham donning a hardhat and a no-nonsense scowl to feel like everything might just turn out alright. And that’s exactly what the first trailer for A Working Man delivers. Reuniting Statham with The Beekeeper director David Ayer, this action-packed thriller boasts a script co-written by Ayer alongside Sylvester Stallone. If this is indeed the second entry in what could be dubbed The Three (Blue) Collars Trilogy, it sees Statham take on the role of Levon Cade—an ex-black ops agent turned construction worker whose quiet life is shattered when his boss’s daughter is abducted. If the premise sounds like classic action-revenge material, the trailer confirms it delivers on that promise in full force.
Over the past few years, Statham has solidified his status as one of Hollywood’s most dependable action stars, delivering hit after hit in films like Meg 2: The Trench, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, Fast X, and Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre and Wrath of Man. In A Working Man, we see him back in his element—handling everything from a steel bucket and pickaxe to a sledgehammer, and even a more high-tech weapon: a scoped assault rifle provided by David Harbour’s mysterious “weapon sommelier.” With Michael Peña also joining the cast, the stakes are high as Cade embarks on a brutal mission. As Statham’s character grimly puts it, “Gangs, the mob, corrupt government officials—they’re all involved in human trafficking,” setting up a relentless journey of vengeance. And with a trafficked victim to save, his bearded ally’s advice rings true: “You killed your way into this—you’re gonna have to kill your way out of it.”
For those who need the official synopsis:
“Levon Cade left behind a decorated career in black ops for a simple life in construction. But when his boss’s daughter—someone he considers family—is kidnapped by human traffickers, his quest to rescue her exposes a massive web of corruption beyond anything he anticipated.”
The film also features an ensemble cast including Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, Noemi Gonzalez, Arianna Rivas, Emmett J. Scanlan, and Eve Mauro.
Will A Working Man deliver the action goods? We’ll find out when Statham and Ayer’s latest collaboration hits screens on 28 March.*
